This sign has been a fixture at 159 East Hastings since the 1930s, a tangible connection to Vancouver’s neon history. However the Balmoral Hotel was closed down by the City in 2017 & torn down by the City. Unfortunately, the City determined that the sign could not be salvaged or repaired.
