Shamrock
Acrylic on canvas, 18x36 inches, 2024
My 18x36 inch piece “Shamrock” will be auctioned off live as part of a fundraiser for the Yukon Imagination Library, which raises money for books to encourage children's literacy across Yukon.
The Auction takes place at the Yukon Chamber of Mines hosts the Yukon Annual Geoscience Forum and Trade Show being held November 16th to 19th, 2025. The event brings together entrepreneurs, investors, along with industry experts to showcase the last year's field season.
The piece depicts an abandoned prospectors shack on the top of Keno Hill, Yukon, looking south to Mt Hinton. The Shamrock claims were staked in the summer of 1920, and some 3000ft above the treeline, so at the time any wood had to be manually hauled up. These were amongst the first claims on what became one of the richest silver camps in the world
