Parks Canada have kindly agreed to allow three of my portraits to exhibit as part of "Weng Slip", a group show at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre to commemorate Gwendolyn Gea “Gwen” Lip, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 41 years.
II got to know Gwen during the 2016 Art in the Park programme in Glacier National Park. It was apparent that Gwen felt a profound connection to the wild spaces that surrounded her, and it shone through in her artwork. She was keenly focused on the smaller, unassuming natural features with textural interest, which left an impression at the time & has stayed with me over the years.
The exhibition runs Sept 27 – Oct 25, with a reception this Thursday, Sept 26, from 5-9 pm.
